Ludington Fishing Report 06-01-2010

June 1, 2010

Fishing in the Ludington area over the past few days has been fair. Some catches of Kings, with some in the 15 – 20 pound class are being taken. In some areas the catch contains some smaller fish.  Good mixed bags with Lake Trout, Steelhead and Browns Showing up in the area.

Good catches were taken recently in the vicinity of the pumped storage plant.  Also north of Big Sauble. The water is beginning to stabilize with surface temps in the mid 50′s. Some fishers found the fish in 40 – 60′, while others did best in 110-120. Extremely deep water does not seem to be producing at this time. Lead core and copper lines of several lengths get the baits away from the boat in the clear  water and tend to be the best producers. Standard size spoons are best. Bright colors such as orange or red seem to produce especially on the higher lines. Divers are also producing action. A mixed bag of Kings and Lakers seem to be the most often reported.  Some fish are being taken on flasher & fly or flasher & bait combinations.
